Hi everyone... I'm very new to FPSC (Got it 2 days ago)... been lurking around the forums for the past few days, thought I would make a post. I was working on some textures and such (ones of my own, and fixed up some defaults), here are some screenshots.

This isn't for any specific game I have planned, as I am very new to the program, I'm just trying to get a feel for it. I eventually plan on making some WWII games (hence the posters you will soon see).

Thanks

Did some work to them... that being said, if anyone could be so nice as to post the default barbed wire texture (texturebank\ww2\scenery\furniture\equipment) I would really appreciate it, as I screwed mine up without backing up.

I made some Canadian soldier skins... allthough they are not too much different from the Tommy skins (Basicly only added in Arm patches and corrected the colour and sharpness)... but I'm still proud of them as I'm still a newb.

Still have alot of work to do on them, mainly adding some camo to the helmets, but not bad for the first try.

Awesome!
What program do you use to edit textures?
And where do you save those textures to use them in your game?
And in what format?
I have tried .tga and .dds but didn't work.
I tried both folders; texturebank/user and entitybank/characters/ww2!

Can you help me with this?

I'm newbie in texturing scene and I wanna know!

I use DXTBmp to convert the files from .dds to .tga. Then I edit them in photoshop, save them as .tga, convert them back to .dds and save them to entitybank/ww2/characters.

Have you change entities .fpe file to use custom textures?

OMG, those ground and wall textures are stunning. Say, I have Photoshop, I'll have to give it a try too...and it's my specialty. Some of my work is on calendars, etc. OOhhh, this is going to be eenterstink. But seriously, I think that ground is worthy of an XBOX 360 game. Heh, I need a graphics card...

Best value in graphics cards these days are the 9600XT and x700 IMO all for under $100US. Though the best "bang for the buck" graphics card would have to be the 6800LE (after unlocking some pipes of course) for about $130US.

By the way.. nice strings. I have a g-400 custom and it plays pretty nicely. Good choice.

Fantastic-looking. I recently played Call of Duty 2 on the XBox 360, and, well, this is right up there way of graphic prowess. Love the sten! Say, where'd you get it, and...ahem. Is it available for our use?

< WOW I need this oxygen mask to breathe because that took my breath away. S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G all around, mate! Just....simply stunning. Hey allow me to ask a quick question while I'm here. I use PhotoShop all the time, but how do I apply a 512x512 texture onto, say a floor or a wall segment in FPSC?

Save it as a tga in your texture/user folder.

Go into the segment bank folder, copy an exhisting segment, edit the .fpe and replace it's texture path with the one you just saved.

Ah, thank you very much! So then I could just resave the .fpe as a different segment altogether, or would I have to save it over the original?

Hmm, I altered the filepath on the BIN file for the WWII full wall segment, and when I went to use it in FPSC, an error popped up. Do I need to place the tga in any specific folder, or can it just link to any old place?

This is a regular Kar 98 (Mauser 98k)... will be adding in the scoped version asap.

I have also made a sound clip of the Mp40, Sten, Thompson and Kar 98 from in the game. The Kar 98 re-chamber sound is just temporary.

Hmmmmmmm - I can see a pretty awesome WWII game coming Mr DoughBoy.... You got a game plan?

I made a trench level recently with Allies firing over head with machine guns and rockets - works really nicely and retains a very WWI / II feel.

These graphics look awesome - you should be rightly proud my man.
