I have been trying to find out how to change the Icon of my game, I put the Icon into the folder the games EXE is in and tell DBP to use it but it just show the default Icon, I did notice it show the Icon under "Icon, List, And details" view but not under "tiles and thumbnails" view. It's not a big deal its just it be nice to have my own Icon and not just the generic Icon.

Yes some people have this problem.I think someone made a program to deal with it,try a search for icon.I think it was called Reshacker.

OC`ed AMD 2.2Ghz/1GB DDR ram/GeForce Fx5200 128MB/1Mb cable/W2KPro/DBPro/Updated.

Same problem here. The db pro upgrade 5.9 makes all icons the default one, or a bar-code looking thing.

If you use reshacker (resource hacker) it will usually mess up your program from loading since both icons need the exact same number of transparent pixels, or there is a icon filesize mixmatch.

If you use reshacker make sure your program/game loads correctly with the new icon before posting it online for others to download.

I've had success using a small EXE and PCK file. Using a program like (I believe) Axialis IconWorkshop, you can completely replace the icon. Works a charm. Download Pong Y2k.5 if you want to see the results.

I've not been able to get it to work with a large EXE. Maybe someone else has.

wow i have Axialis IconWorkshop too

anyways the main problem is using a different bit-depth icon, an icon thats a different size, or an icon with w/ or w/o transparency.

I used a 32x32x256 icon that looked good enough. 256 colors is kind of 1990, but for a 32 by 32 image it doesn't really matter.

When you add an icon to the project the default icon is replaced with the first icon in the list... but because of some bug in Pro the icon is messed up in the .exe.

You can replace the bad icon with resource hacker and not get the problem of the icon not being the right size.

The attached file has 3 pictures. The right side is a picture of the menu you use to add the icon. The top left is the way the icon looks before compiling and the bottom left is the way the icon looks after compiling.
