I've got a little network at home (just one desktop and one laptop). I stream all the music from my desktop onto my laptop by sharing the 'Music' folder I have on my PC.

At the moment I have a shortcut in My Documents to A: (the name I've given the shared folder on my laptop) which works fairly well. However it essentially means I have two 'My Music' folders.

Is there anyway in which I can use the actual My Music folder instead of the shortcut to access the music?

Essentially I want the (actual, atm I have a shortcut named 'My Music') 'My Music' folder to show the contents of the Music on my PC.

so you want the "My Music" folder in "My Documents" on your laptop to link to the "My Music" folder on your PC?

Basically, yeah. Without using a shortcut.

Well I believe you can do that by going into the registry and changing the location of "My Music" I looked but was unable to find where it was located. So here is what I did.

download TweakUI from here http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/tweakui

then after you install it, run it and in the right pane click the + on "My Computer" then select "special Folders". then in the window to the right use the drop down menu to select "My Music" then click the button that says "Change Location" A window will open up. click the + next to Network Places and select the "My Music" folder from your PC. then click apply and restart windows. Your "My Music" folder on your laptop should link to the one on your PC over the network

Hope that helps,
