There are so many requests for web hosting on this forum it's amazing. So I'm gonna go the other way and tell you lot about my services.

SpidaHost.com is a site I'm setting up to give all independent game developers a chance to buy web hosting at the lowest prices I can possibly afford. I mean $0.99 a month for a professional web hosting account is nothing is it?

I've already had a number of pre-orders and all accounts will be going live by the end of the month.

So there you have it, no need for anyone to EVER post another thread asking about web hosting!

Yes I am aware of the competition.

But none of my competitors is launching a huge portal for indies any time soon, neither are they having web based services and software developed to make your lives easier for free.

I don't mean to be a spoilsport, but they expressly banned people from advertising webhosting here, as not long ago there were 10 new threads like this a week at least... I'm pretty sure this will get locked close to right away. I think your banner is in the rules so ong as it isn't an affiliate link. Anyway I personally have no objections, so good luck with your busines

Well... I'm pesimistic. No offence or anything but you can get free web hosting with a huge amount of possibilities.

Opps sorry I didn't realise.

Though this is more something to help out indies rather than drain their money.

Hmmm. For your top end product, you're charging twice as much as some of your competitors, so you're clearly not just doing this to help out indies!

What long term plans do you have for the service? Whenever I see this sort of thing I always worry that as soon as I get a site sorted the host's going to get bored of webhosting and move onto something else (opening an online kipper shop perhaps?)

Mucho appreciation to Nicholas Thompson for helping me and my mac get along with each other better.

Powersoft, you are teh COOLEST!
I've been looking for a free/cheap host that just gives you ~100 mb plus mass bandwidth.

I'm going to eat you!

@ Fallout & soapyfish:

I need to break even on this project before I can even start doing anything else which is why the prices are maybe not as low as they could go.

I have a large portal in development for indie game developers which is costing a small fortune to create and I need to fund it by selling websites, so you will in fact benefit in the end.

I did post a thread here about it but it didn't get much interest so I'm raising it's profile over at indie gamer if anyone wants to go and take a look in a week or so.

$0.99 a month is too expensive!? Get a job, people! I'm currently paying $9US a month, and without a dedicated server you're still not going to be able to control everything. I just can't believe you can stay in business selling $0.99/month hosting. I mean, just to earn a decent living of $4k a month--- that's a hell of a lot of subscribers. Good luck to you

Like I said the idea is not to generate $1000s overnight but to fund another indie related project.

Eh, it's not bad! It's just that that's $12 a year. And for $40 (just over 3 times more) a year, you can get a package that has 20 times the disk space and bandwidth!

Fair play, ya know. It's not a bad offer. I'm just not a big fan of people playing the "I'm helping you guys out" card when if you were only trying to help, it'd make more sense to point people to the better value deals! Like I said though, it's not a bad package at all. It's just there are better.

That's not nearly enough for me, and probably not for most of us when we release a popular title. 6 gigs would probably meet the minimum requirements.
