Hey everyone, I have two 2.4 64bit AMD Opteron processors that I want to use to make a dual processor PC. I'm having a problem with this though... All the motherboards that I can find so far are server MoBo's, and only support registered RAM. If anyone knows where I could find a regular desktop MoBo that supports 2 AMDs, please let me know.
THANKS!

I'm not who you think...

You will not find a standard desktop mobo that'll run dual opterons as they were designed for servers. And virtually all server boards will require the ecc registered memory. It sucks I know, ecc is still expensive. I had a dual athlon mp. I still got a 512mb stick for sale if you're interested, pc2100 ecc registered. I had a 1gb low-profile, but someone on here already bought it.

Thanks for the info Phaelax, sadly thats kinda what I was expecting to hear... About the RAM, I'm trying to stay away from 512, as I'm making a 2+ GB system But if I decide that the money is getting tight and you can make a good deal, then I'd consider it (as long as you live in the U.S., don't want to ship it from out of the country).
Thanks again!

yea im in the US, and can beat any newegg price. My motherboard blew 7 capacitors and so now im stock with 2 cpu's and a ram stick with no use for them. The board was a couple hundred dollars, which im not willing to buy again. I wouldn't mind trading for some PC100 ram, that stuff got expensive. It's become the EDO of the new millenium.
