I think a cone shaped object should work. Just set it semi transperent and texture it yellowish.

Load the flashlight as a separate object and use one of the lim commands to attach it to the character's hand lim. I've never used lims in DBPro before so I'm not sure which one would be more practical, ADD LIM or LINK LIM... o.O

Then use a cone like what Cookyzue said and then position a light there with the MAKE LIGHT command, and tinker around with the rest of the light commands to create the desired effect.

hm...use the cone, make it transparent, and make a spot light and position it on the cone? I think this will work...

no, notice the shadows the sofa creates on itself. That means there's a light there, a simple cone wont make it brighter.

you would probably have to use pixel shaders too if you want it to be good.

im guessing current dbp spotlight cant cast light like this right??

I would prefer 2 cones - one white one yellow and a normal spotlight.
