Hey,
I wanted to start looking into C++ for the future, what kind of compiler do you need? Are there compilers like DBP that can be bought/downloaded? Are there any free compilers?

Try Microsoft Visual C++ Express. It comes with a compiler and a great IDE all for free. Make sure you download the Platform SDK with it. http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualc/download/

I use Borland C++ Builder.Borland C++ Builder You have to register for the site(free) in order to download it though.

Oh and after you get it, it may have trouble finding some include files... If that happens move all the files from their respective folder to the /bin folder.

I recommend DevC++ (what Explicate said)

It's free and it works great for me...
