hi,u know that command child_pos in rad. how would i do the same thing in dbp??
also child_rot...how would i do that also??

i used to use those commands alot but am not sure how to do it in dbp.

how would i make a function for these two commands???

heres a picture while i explain:

i used to use something called 3drad,its a very old game engine.
it has a command called child_pos & child_rot.

child_pos keeps an object exactly where u want it,for example on my player-a flashlight exactly at my players' right hand like u see in a + b.

child_rot makes the object(flashlight) copy the players rotation exactly (c),so the flashlight will stay exactly where my players right hand is.

i was thinking the limb commands can do this,but i dont want to attach my object to a limb.im trying to set my spotlight exactly where my player's right hand is. also i want the spotlight to copy the players y rotation exactly.

But i think u could create ur own functions.
Use sin,cos,tan and object angle x,y,z

Do you mean that child_pos keeps the flashlight you want you model to hold in its hand, and child_rot makes so ithas the same angle as your object?

The limb command is your best option, I think. You can position it onto the object's hand limb and position to look like it's being held, and it will always be there on the object and looking the same way as the object.

Do you know how to use the limb command, or do you want me to make/find a tutorial for you?

the only thing i need help with is how to set the spotlight at my player's hand & face the same way as the player all the time.i know how to set a flashlight object on my player's hand limb.

can u help with that?? im also trying to get a really good spotlight with volmetric light,but no one has told me if dbp can do this or not.

The best way to create a spotlight beam and have it visible, is to create a cone object and have it transparent or ghosted. Then, create a light on the cone to give the effect of a spotlight.

To do this, just make a cone and rotate it correctly and glue it to the flashlight using the glue object to limb command. Then, make a light and make it a splotlight. Then position the spotlight always at the person with the flashlight. Like this: position light LIGHTNUM,object position x(CHARACTER),object position y(CHARACTER),object position z(CHARACTER)

well,that really didnt help at all.ive already tried everything u said.i need help keeping the spotlight facing the same way as the player all the time.tks 4 trying though.

i finally got it working exactly how i wanted!
i only wish we had a command to control the power of the light.
