After recently reading a article on digg.com about a dude who decompiled the source for MS Pinball and did some cool stuff to it I thought that It would be cool to do that. Then I realized that I had no idea how to do that lol. After reading the article I gathered some basic information

When you decompile something like that it decompiles to Assemble witch is like the universal computer language 1 step above Binary.

I would need to find out were I could get a decompiler.

Now I have a few questions:

Were can I get a decompiler

Is there anymore information on this subject that you can tell me?

Most of the time, doing that sort of thing is illegal.

Unless your fluent in assembly (x86 in this case), it's not going to be all that useful paging through reams of dump.

If he had the source why did he need to decompile it to do cool stuff to it?

Nope. Depends on the country and the conventions that the country has signed. Further it depends on which parts of which conventions the country has adopted into law.
