well, i might as well throw in my 2 cents. I was able to track down a 360 premium the week before christmas and have loved it ever since. I bought three additional wireless controllers for it, and am very happy that my old wireless network adapter that i used for my original xobx, works perfectly with the new xbox. I have Project Gotham 3, Call of Duty 2, Perfect Dark Zero, Madden NFL 2006, and Kameo: Elements of Power.
I have to say that project gotham is my fvorite game out of the bunch, its graphics are in my opinion the best of all the launch games, as long as you race in the in-car view, which the resulting sense of realsm is unparallel to any other game i have played before, especially on my 52" widescreen HDTV with Dolby 5.1.
Call of Duty 2 is an enormously entertaining game, i played throught the single player campaign with a dropped jaw, but i was immediatley dissapointed as started playing online matches, which, i would say 3 out of 4 are so horribly laggy, that i must drop out and re-enter the matchmaking process. But 1 out of every 4 matches are not laggy, and those matches make it well worth the time wasted on the other attempts. Even the the multiplayer is limited to 8, i think it just as fun as playing Halo 2 online.
I am sad to say that i was extremely dissapointed as far as Perfect Dark Zero goes, i am a proud owner of the original Perfect Dark, which was truley a masterpeice, and still is today. It was the king (or queen) of all first person shooters right up until Halo came out. But this sequel felt way more cartoony than it should have, although they picked a graphical style and did it well, the single player campaign seemed short, the story is frankly pitifull, especially when compared to the first game's, the multiplayer, tho fun and extremely customizable, can feel slow at time, and the 32 player matches online are so confusing to play i cant even begin to describe my feeling of hoplessness my first time entering one. This was by no means a bad game, it is very enjoyable, but this game had very big shoes to fill, and i would almost perfer the original.
Madden NFL 2006 is very pretty indeed, it incorporates a lot of the core elements in the ps2 and xbox versions, but it has so much cut out! It is still a fun game, beleieve me, i love playing through a season with my friend, and did i mention that only 2 people can play on one 360? How absurd is that?!!? Maddens voice is nowhere to be found in the game, and frankly, i was dissapointed, i would have expected this version to have mre features, not less.
And i havent played Kameo, my sisters play that, theyve told me it is really fun, but then again, they have loooooow expectations for games, so ill get back once i play it a while.
But overall im guessing i am happy with the 360, tho i wouldnt have minded waiting another year or more so we could have the same leap in hardware as we saaw from the snes-n64 and the n64-xbox. I love the xbox dashboard, tho it has frozen twice on me to date, it is packed full of features. If you had to buy 2 games for the system, i would recomened Call of Duty 2, and Project Gotham 3. Well, thats my 2 cents on the system, hope it helped someone.
Box World.....WIP coming soon....
