Does anyone know of any installers that download ur program from the web and then install them. For example, you download a 1 megabyte program and run it and that program downloads a 300 meg game from the internet and has the options to pause the install

Thanks

Never heard of any, but I've seen them in action and I truely hate them.
These installers are really annoying, and I can't do anything about them because their creators wrote their real names in the "about" section! ARG.
An example of these is DirectX and VisualStudio. When they download from the server, they do so in only one thread... taking ages in the process. That's why I always prefer the full download version, as it will finish in 1/10 of the time, and I can turn the computer off and resume downloading the next day if necessary (something these installers don't seem to do often).

I truely hate these installers as well, but it makes it easier for people to download my game. I will be including a full download as well on my site, but I also want to implement this and give the the user the choice of downloading which he/she wants.

Thanks

Indeed, there's no point making one unless you include some sort of download pause & resume after exit mechanism; if you just need a straight 3mb-odd download, stick with normal HTTP.

The Visual Studio 'web' installers are extremely annoying in that they let you pause, but if you have to close the installer for some reason then you have to start over.
