Could somebody tell me where to find one? If not, could anyone try creating one? It would be much appreciated.

PS: A plain 2D 1-on-1 fighter would be good also

Hopefully, in the near future. I will be releasing the EVOLUTION 2D FIGHTER engine for DBPro users. I'm not finished with it yet. It is still a WIP project.

If I was making one, I'd put a sprite on each hand and foot, and then check their position in relationship to distance from enemy. Using distance routines during punches, and kicks you could get a realistic engine going.

I'd help but I'm busy.

If you need a 2d game maker that's free and open source then go to:

I created a 2D fighter in Turbo Pascal.

If you want the source code I can give you it, for free. Code is pretty similar to Dark Basic, it doesn't take a genius!

Similarly, I came across a spriteset from the Amiga INTERNATIONAL KARATE + video game, if you would like them I could maybe mail or FTP you them.
