You think the screens look good? Try playing the actual game. It is amazing. I got to play the e3 demo at the Nintendo Fusion Tour and I absolutley loved it.

I've been following this since it was anounced... The fact that this is Zelda only makes it that much more awesome.

Are you INSANE?! Zelda has not only never appeared on any non-Nintendo platform, it's also made by Nintendo themselves, and next to Mario, Link is basically their mascot. Incase that didn't make it clear; it's for the Gamecube exclusively.

Sorry, but that's like asking if FF7 was released on the N64, or if pokemon red or blue was for the Game Gear.

Yup I have both CD-I games they were awful. There was also some mario themed games on the CD-I. I remember some Nintendo CD-ROM games for PC too.

The CD-I games happenned because originally Nintendo were researching into making a CD-rom for the SNES like Sega's MegAD/SegaCD for the Megadrive/Genesis. They started ork on two prototype units, one with sony and one with phillips. When the Mega CD flopped they gave up on the idea. Sony took their prototype and turned it into the playstation, and phillips tooke theiors and turned it into the CDI. Phillips threatenned to sue Nintendo for breaking their contract and Nintendo said that as payment they could use their intellectual properlties, hense the awful Zelda and Mario Games

This new Zelda does look really good, I've been looking forward to irt for some time. There oare some noted inconsistancies in the graphics, one of which being the textures on the terrains are very low and oftern shadows are poor fakes and sometime not even there at all - Ninteno puts this down entirely to the sheer scale of the levels, personally I don't mind trading one for the other

The screenshots look terrible in my opinion... Like the N64 with lightmapping. I think the Wind Waker had it spot on. The toon shading rocked.

NeX, it looks nothing like the N64 with lightmapping when you play it in person, and that water, I'd swear that beats the water in some Next-Gen games.

How do you know how it plays in person? Am I the only one who thinks the videos make it look like just another 3rd person action game? Forever the skeptic, I'll wait to see how this advances the tired genre.

Mario 64 advanced the platform genre in leaps and bounds, and I have yet to see another Nintendo game live up to it.

well Zelda and Mario have always been quite different games, I think the first 3d zelda on the 64 was a big leap for the series. I would agree that neither series has hugely improved since those titles though, windwaker and sunshine (while still better than 99% of games from other companies) were not as good as the 64 versions in my opinion

Hmm, never herd of it, thus the lack of knowledge about them. But I still think it's insane to ask if a Zelda game was coming out for the ps2.

Quote: "The screenshots look terrible in my opinion... Like the N64 with lightmapping. I think the Wind Waker had it spot on. The toon shading rocked."

Uh.. yah. When's the last time you looked at the n64 version? And the reason this one isn't toon shaded is because it's going to be the most mature in the series. It will even feature the oldest Link, so toon shading wouldn't exactly fit it. If you read up about it, you'll see that Nintendo's added quite a few things that are completely new to the series. A lot of Zelda fans were actually swayed from the series when Nintendo took the cartoony approach. The game was still great, but most people said the graphics sucked without giving it a second glance, despite how good they actually were.

Quote: "Mario 64 advanced the platform genre in leaps and bounds, and I have yet to see another Nintendo game live up to it."

If we ever do see one out do Mario 64, my bet is it will come out for the Revolution. I'm actualy kind of anoyed at how little variation there's been in the majority of platformers since the release of Mario 64.

Yes, lets hope that the Revolution sees a return to form for the big N. I was always a pretty equal fan of both Sega and Nintendo, but recently Sega has been doing all the innovating in the "big" console world, (if only for other companies consoles), some great and different games. I'd like to see the revolution do well, and I thin their new ideas are sounding very promising. But if it does fail (like the dreamcast which was brilliant, innovative and still failed) it would make a great swan song before going software only. Or even better they could develop a new console WITH sega and pwn Microsoft and Sony once and for all

It's not just you, the only difference is that it doesn't have link on the King of Red Lions and instead has the Twilight Princess logo.

Is it just me, or is it also practically the same as the Ocarina of Time case, except on a dvd case?
That's how they usually look, the browny-gold color is the Zelda color.
