What's the best way to do this? Say I've loaded a 3d object in say .3ds file format and I display and then move a limb and want to make this another keyframe - is there anyway I can save that frame into a 3d object in dbpro???

I think u will find an easy alternative in patch5

for now u will have to grab the vertice and poly positions to a file by reading the model into a memblock and extracting the data.

Indi,

How much then will I be able to do with Patch 4 vis-a-vis .dbo? Will it load and save 3d objects including animation or excluding animation?

Guestimate - how long to path 5 - summer or autumn?

hmm im not sure when patch 5 is around.

u should be able to read an x file fairly easily compared to all the 3ds formats and grab the limb data from inside a memblock of the model data.
