On tonight. So far it is horrible, but I still watch it. Funny part is that a girl has a crush on simon <.< What the hell did we do to deserve him coming over here anyway?

The only part of AI I watch are the auditions. Not to sound mean, but its funny watching people's dreams get crushed.

funny? It is hilarious. Just pure awesomeness. Especially because these people are all such horrible singers anyway

I wonder who the hell tells these people that they are good and encourages them to try out.

Some of them probably try out knowing they don't have a prayer, just so they can get a chance to be seen on national television. Like that cop guy. C'mon, you mean to tell me his buddies didn't put him up to that? That last guy was hilarious, the crazy guy who talks to animals, he couldn't sing but he passed auditions just b/c he was so crazy!

well , offcourse many of them doesn`t know how to sing , that is like audition for normal citizen`s who would like to try out their "talent" , that is not audition for professional singers....

As said many times before (but I couldn't resist) I was on the very first series of Pop Idol It was great fun! I'm also the star (for 30 seconds! ) of the video "Pop Idol Raw Talent" (Pop Idol was the original show which transformed into American Idol in the US and X Factor in UK) I'd just like to add that Simon Cowell is a very nice guy (Just because he liked me )

Simon is the best thing on American Idol...if you get rid of him, the only remaining judges are going to be exactly like this forum. Nothing but "Great!" and "Keep up the good work!" and all that crap people utter because they are too afraid to say what they really think of someone.

"Did he slap your ass or something?"
No but Neil "Dr" Fox did in the toilets he was a strange character.
Simon just liked me because I had the guts to stand up to him. Most of the other contestants were crying or whatever when he put them down, I just stood my ground. And in the next round I took in a pair of handcuffs and locked him to his cair until he said I was good enough to go through (at the time it didn't occur to me how camp that may have looked - I just had them attatched to my jeans as I was kinda stuck doing the whole gothic back clothes and chains look) He always remembered me after that and purposely said nice things so as not to annoy me

guys there is three audtitions before you go to hollywood. They let really good people and really bad people through to get VIEWERS LIKE YOU. It worked didnt it? Your doingexactly what they want you to do. Watching people fail is good television, thats why they let them through. Simon and paula and randy or whoever is the judges only see about 10% of all that try out. Again, these are the good singers who make it to the real competitions...and the bad singers that get more viewers. I cant believe people actually think thats real... like professional wrestling? exactly... THAT fake!

I think Simon should go and burn in the deepest part of hell. Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with every decision Simon made about every contestant. But he needs to change is smart ass response into a constructed response. He belittles people. For example that statue of liberty guy, he sang for 1 second, didn't even get to finish the note and Simon is like no you fail miserably go kill yourself.

By the way they can't fire Simon. It's his show!

I'd like to see the European version of American Idol. And has anyone seen the kid version of American Idol?

Why thank you kind sir lol seriously though its hardly worth it for a few seconds on a video. At some point I'll dig out our original vhs we taped of the tv and digitse it - I think its in the loft somewhere lol

"Now which one is you"
Annoyingly, that video front is made from just over 100 faces (100 finalists and a few who got let in when ohers were disqualified. I have the poster of it at home my face is not actually on that cover as its covered by the logo the stupid designers put on there - it is just above the "a" of talent in the full image For anyone who does own the video though, I'm (obviously from the post above) the guy with the handcuffs

Kangaroo, you have some real bravery if you really went on that show. People here in the states stand up to Simon all the time but he gives them the truth and there dreams get crushed. The auditions are the best part to watch, so many strange characters try out.

I'm sorry, but the judges on American Idol are obviously reading from a script. One time last night they actually used a joke from last year :/ .

Torrey - thanks Yeah it wasn't as bad initially - Simon got a reputation for being mean and now does it on purpose to improve ratings - now he has a go at peopel even if they are good! (Anne Robinson on "The Weakest Link" did the same, started off genuine but now plays a pantomime style villian )

xMik - Cool man! Where did you do your initial auditions? We may have met - its hard to remember just from a little photo! [edit] lol I just noticed you editted the photo lol 80% official, thats cool

If you knew how to do it already, why'd you just tell yourself how to do it?

Some people just scare me...

I just have to point out, the other day, I sat down and watched a few auditions with my sister and mom, and i must say, that queer who dressed, sounded, acted, just like a girl... seriously needs help... I was laughing so hard.

and that cowboy kid, really really surprized me, i really thought he would freaking suck. but wow, he was good.

and that 16yr old girl that simon had nothing bad to say about... she'll get far in the show...

anywho, AI sucks
