i built and textured some houses in milkshape, then loaded them into my prog. works fine. so i made an object plain, textured as a door, looks fantastic. i placed my doors right up against the outside walls of my houses, about 10 or so pixels away. when the camera is about 100 units away from the door and closer, everything is fine, you can seed the door well, but when you walk further out, the door begins to disappear but you can still see the house. any suggestions on how to make this stop? thanx in advance everyone.

its because the door is a smaller object and so as you moveaway its "scaled" down untill it has a negative with and thisvanishes, the house isnteffected because the house iswider so ittake longer for it to negative scale.try makeing it a static object and try oclusion on and off to see if that helps

have you tried linking the object as a limb, i dunno it might have some effect, butthats a shot in the dark, you may be forced ot make the door a animation of the house object

I think that may be due to z-buffer inaccuracy. The inaccuracy means the program thinks the door is behind (or inside) the house, so it draws the house over it. To compensate, move the door further away from the house, or make the door part of the house, or part of the texture.

well, i fixed the door, just used Darthster's advice on making the door part of the house by remaking the texture for it in milkshape. now another problem that i'm having is that when you're away from the buildings, the chimnies and bottom of the roofs disappear, but they're part of the model itself. i built the model and textured it in milkshape, so why does db want to make it disappear?

I would just add fog Then, if the object is amist the fog then can delete it or hide it.
