The title is inspired, to say the least...

clicky -> http://www.ctgmusic.com/song.php?id=10185

Like it says, I wrote this in a few evenings. Some entirely irresistable funky guitar riffs there, gOTtA DANcE!

Omg, not CTG music! Don't let the acronym fool you! Cute Trance Girls is the worst named music site sinse BananaramaFeaturingOsama.com.

Edit: Oh, but to be fair, the tune itself is sh*t hot! Good fun.

Yes, I know what it means, , but I also know about a certain little (cough) fallout you had with... was it Randor? or xTr1m?

...CTG has an overpopulation of newbies making trance, the decent trance artists (Mikkas, Edzes, os, etc.) never get the attention they deserve. As an interesting side effect, the best music at CTG isn't trance at all - Lord Wallace (funk), Blue Hand (breakbeat), AmBeam (ambient), Tinta (downtempo), all write the more inspired musics there.

Anyway, nuf' of that, try linking to it directly -> http://www.provosmusic.com/music/provos_-_Funkamajig!_(v1.1).mp3

Oh, sweet tunes there. Makes me wanna dance like a penguin!

It actually reminds me of the music from Perfect Dark : Zero. Good job.

I liked the tune. Very happy stuff.

It actually made my cat smile.

Cheering sucks though. And tone down those annoying wailing guiters abit.

Well okay, I know I can't make you tone em down. But they still make me shudder.

When I first sketched the song out, I was feeling a little low and needed all the people cheering me on.. If it's driving you nuts, look at v1.1, I cut the cheers out in all but the intro and outro, sounds a lot better that way anyway . I also put a low cut on the kick to prevent it to interfering with the b-line.

to answer dbmad's question - 'twas written in Reason 3.0 - the cymbol sounds were from some old tracker songs the cat drug in, rest of the samples were from the factory soundbank. Oh, and the kick is from a CM cover disc...

Plays from the direct link - I like it Good job I like the base line and the scratching bit in the break And the guitar is good, don't turn it down To my taste the percussion esepcailly the bass hits need to be more powerful, they sound a little too "midi drums" at the moment, but its really well put together. You obviously have a knack for this

@Hawkeye

I didn't really have a falling out with the dude. I made a shoutbox post saying I thought the CTG name was a bit lame. I think it struck a nerve so he deleted my shoutbox msg. So I asked why it was deleted and he deleted that. Then I complained about the censorship and he deleted that.

I hate OTT censorship. Let it go I say unless it's offensive. So I took my tunes off the site.

Well I think you learned a lesson here: Don't post nude pictures of yourself in other people's shout boxes.

Ahhh, the "express yourself" box... must have misunderstood you before, now I understand. Cheers

Ahh yeah! That was it! Express yourself box! So I expressed myself, and was slapped down!

@Megs - Watch it! Naked pictures of me would bring sparkle to any shoutbox.

Awesome, sounds much better without the constant cheering, it really grooves. In the future, think about adding more voices to the melody. You'd have to take the lead guitar out for a while and get some softer voices (synth brass?) and do a shout chorus or something. This song is wicked sick though.

The only reason the cheering is so obnoxiously present in the first version is due to me tweaking the compression settings at the very last minute - I was hearing the sample end point in the outro, so I dialed the compressor up to an embarassingly high setting in order to get rid of it. But of course, that pushed the volume up so it was at a constant level, meaning that it was no longer just barely hearable during the main course of teh song. Meh I spent five days finetuning the mix, and then I don't listen to it all the way through right before I uploaded... I do wanna make a better version of this, I simply just can't resist that bgtr melody

Cheering didn't bother me mate. I think it worked actually. It is the funkamajig after all! It has the whole vibe of being a bit wacky, but groovy and the crowd noise does the biz there.

Why not? The Internet is for porn after all. Although the Admins on that zelda site didn't like that line.
