I want to make a program that lets you browse for jpgs on the computer and then loads the one you choose as the desktop wallpaper. How can I change the computer's background picture from DB?

I don't think it's possible to access that system through DarkBasic... It may be possible with the use of a dll.

You could probably do it by copying the file into the windows directory and accessing the registry to change the filename of the background. If you use Classic though the commands you need to edit the registry aren't available. Also the file needs to be converted to .bmp before windows will see it.

Of course you can always just put up text explaining to the user he/she needs to change the background themselves to the picture your program creates (always use the same filename).
