hey guys i've been working on my anime based game for a while sorta like transformers but i thought i'd like to show off some screens not really any gameplay i've been optimising it for the last two months to have better performance i have 3rd and first person view nearely working and a menu system in the works along with custom soundtracks im not a pro at dbpro but im learning slowly at my own rate i just got some shaders working and im trying a variety of them to see what looks right such as cartoon shading

im going to show some screenshors from early development to now you wont see much content added but the game runs more smoothly now

i know it doesnt look that great but like i said before i go adding in a bunch of stuff i want to make sure i know exactly how to organize my code and most optimal way to use it before i bog the game down to a crawl

lol before i updated dbpro the poly's command was broke so it returned 0 as a result but yeah im trying to get stuff in order and being one coder who knows almost next to nothing about dbpro makes it a bit hard i was hoping someone may like my work and try to help :-p modeler or a coder as long as i get help

later on when i get gameplay all setup im going to have the game multi-player by p2p or im thinking of a master server not sure i'll worry about creating a server when the games functional

oh yeah and im looking for people with different hardware e.g. different ammounts of ram different videocards and processor's to test it out about now so i can get a decent description on how the game runs on different systems you wont however be able to move around as a zoids the models arent yet animated and i have disabled functions that are being worked on for this small tech demo only camera support will be added and custom security has been set in place so the game cant be freely played without certain codes from me so anyone who wants to tell me how this performs on their harware sign up in this thread

and give me your email adresses only 10 people are allowed to check it out im just looking for descriptions on certain things

23k polys is too much for 2 models and a plane. you could half the models polycount and they will look hardly any different.

i understand that that much slows down the game a bit for lower end system users but im aiming to make this game look the best i possibly can

Animate the droids and make a vid, or put them on a heightmapped landscape it would look cooler

save that to your project folder and use it as a terrain heightmap. Being a non-programmer,I cant tell you how, but im sur tons of people can.

And if you send me the droid model in .3ds, I coul do a run animation

your statistic 1 says 23k and im accounting for the matrix so im guessing its 10k polys your model isnt 2k polys.

Cool looking model, I used to love zoids - I had a spider one that I used to scare my mum with (moved and looked like a tarantula when under material ie bed sheets etc)

performance when i started the game the builds were so slow due to the way i coded things and at that time i had a bunch of stuff in the works so i spent a long time figuring out what works best and what works faster to therefor i boosted the fps by about 40%

it's better to know you wont have performance issues when you code something in but at the time i was working on 3rd person view and other object formats and stuff the game was slowing to a crawlk so i spent most of my time optimising the code for faster reading and stuff it just performs a whole lot better on lower level and mid level machines now..my friend who tested the first build got around 200fps with his uber computer now he gets 700+

The graphics were good, and they are good models, but there are many wasted triangles and vertices on them. I've included an optimized version, at nearly 700kb smaller.

At least farting ferrets are better than stinky stoats.

I wouldn't mind helping. My only skills though are programming, and I also happen to know what zoids is.

I'm a modeler. Zoids are complex, but I reckon are fun to build. I myself have a couple of the toys somewhere in my closet. Do you have a limit for polygons? If it's somewhat high, I'd be glad to help.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's larger than 600x120...
