This is packageman(http://www.welpen.tmfweb.nl/Packageman.zip.
Please download it. Now there are monsters and 6 levels, what do you think of it. How can I make it better? And in the middle of the screen is a number(the framerate), what's the framerate on your computer? It's a remake of Pacman, but I think you know it already.

Well I downloaded your game, it's 12 to 15 fps on my athlon 1800xp 256DDR geforce2 mx400 and that's frightfully slow.
I think maybe you should at least include an option to remove the background (trees etc..) cos they don't really add much except processor overhead just the pipes and the music are cool. Even if you get the fps up he could turn a bit faster so you can have a check for the monsters and get more involved in the game.

Cool Idea though, real simple yet effective.

Thank you. My computer is just new so on my computer the framerate is 50 FPS(I've limited the sync rate to 50). Now I know I have to make it faster. And I know 15 FPS is very slow... The background removing thing is a good idea. I will do it.

Please, could please other people download it as well. I know, on some systems it runs very slow. But I could also use some more feedback on the gameplay and graphics. Thank you very very much for your time.

Sorry, but I really couldn't find anything wrong with the game running at 4fps. Maybe post a faster version and I will see.

Allthought i wasn't really able to run your game (7fps), it think it looks nice though. You might be able to speed some things up by lowering your amount of ghosted objects, or like said before remove some environmental things. The music and the other objects look cool! You can also try to make your texturefiles smaller, for instance use 128x128 or even 64x64 textures. That speeds up a lot too. And I noticed a lot of dots in your game that the pacman had to pick up. I couldn't really see them from upclose due to speed problems, but maybe you can use plain objects for that or so, that is faster than cubes.

Ran at 7fps, wasn't particularly nice but it was playable. I have a 400mhz with Radeon7000 by the way. I think getting rid of the ghost objects would greatly speed up the game and sizing down your textures would also be good. And if worse really comes to worse, you might even consider changing the resolution to 640*480 - I think it's currently running in 800*600 right?

You're right. it's running in 800*600 currently. But removing the ghost objects and setting them untransparant is something I don't like to do. Than you can't see everything any more. But I will give the option to hide the enviromental things and I will size down the textures. Changing the resolution is something I will try, but I hope it wont be nessacary.

Hey why don't you make the ghosting dynamic, like as you approach a new section of pipe, that pipe ghosts. If you do the same for the pipes that ghosts(monster ghosts) are in then you might be able to see 'em just as well. as you leave a pipe behind it goes solid again...

I agree about simpler dots, that's what the original had.

Thank you. At least somebody where the game runs fast. I wont remove the transparant pipes but I will give options to delete the scenery. I will also decrease texture size and I will give a option to use less detailed dots.

thats coz you have a GF4... I also have one, a Ti4800 and it also runs at 40 fps, which is very slow if you look at the graphics detail

not that I say your game isn't good... it's just great!
I think thats a DB problem... games like Q3 run at about 200 fps on a GF4 in that resolution I guess

a bit slow, mainly because your textures are very dense on the character, matrix and trees. I wasn't very fond of the music or sounds at all, and it was usually pretty hard to find where I wanted to go. And it seemed very slow paced. But it was cute, I just wish it was a bit more exciting

Hi,

Nice Retro

I have run it on my AMD 1.2 Ghz, 128MB Ram and GForce4 MX - 64MB DDR-Ram (It's the Mystify 440 MX from Terratec).

The FPS is different by the level maps, I've got Rates from 45 up to 57, but its ok and I can play it.
