what program do you use to create your music/sound effects. I'd prefer if it would be free

Mine is not free. It's called Magix Music studio 6 or something like that.

Much cheaper (and easier, in my opinion) than Reason is Fruityloops, which is shortly going on to release 4 AND can load VSTi's end DXi's. They have a non-saving demo in their site, but you can export .wav loops with it.

I make my own music on my Electric Keyboard & I bought an adapter to where it will go out of the headphones jack in my keyboard & hook into my computers Microphone jack. Then I just use the software that comes with windows for it afterwards, or you can download CDex which is a free program, that can record wavs longer waves than what comes in the multimedia toolbar thing with you computer & windows.

Just go do http://www.downloads.com & type in CDex, its free, can make wav files, can convert wav to mp3 (even though I wouldnt use an MP3 file in my game (requires a license so I hear to use in a comercial product.)

I hope that helps, CDex can do any wave editing, but I would also recomend turning your entire volume control things down almost all the way, otherwise youll have that staticy sound.

Oh, by the way, if you do the piano thing, turn the volume to almost off, you could easily ruin your computer and/or speakers that way, & really tears up your computer if you dont have it to a soft wisper.

I use Fruity Loops as well, although it isn't free. I also hear Cakewalk is quite a good program (no pun intended).

I have Vakewalk, its pretty good, & a lot more powerfull than the one that comes with Windows, but it also costs anywhere from $50-$100 for the program alone. I like it, but there are some free ones that I dont mind (CDex if you can play an instument. If you cant, try taking some lessons. I am getting to the point where everone wants me to put out a CD of my music. ^^")

Opps, sorry, the dreaded typo that I am just now noticing. Cakewalk is what I meant.
