This has been bugging me, im not sure how its done, like for example i've seen loads of 3d games made in darkbasic pro that has 3d sprites in the game. I dont understand how to make them lol only 2d, Has it to do with the particale's? e.g say i shoot a rocket out of the rocket launcher...i want a small fire explosion from the exit of the launcher...and then a bigger sprite explosion when the rocket itself collides with anything. Thanks alot for ur help

You mean a 3D plain with a 2D texture on it?

thats simple.
make up your explosion animation, as if it was 2d or 3d, then make an object plain and position it at the end of the gun/rocket launcher, then hide it.

When you fire the rocket launcher, you unhide the plain, and set the animation in motion. When animation is complete, hide the object again.

hope this helps alittle

Why are the forgotten always remembered? But no-one remembers me?!
