What they call 'realigning resources' actually means 5% of their staff will lose their jobs (which is around 350 people). This has to do with their annual profit margin falling 31% ($116 million), but it's still quite harsh to fire so many staff in one shot. Apparently, the cuts were primarily in Redwood Shores, EA Tiburon and EA Canada, so here's hoping that Jeku and the people he know haven't been affected. Either way, it's still nasty.

Nope, don't worry, I wasn't affected by this (thank you, Jesus). That's all I have to say about that

Ahh yes, my blog. Didn't think there were any readers :-P Since I've gotten the job in December I haven't had much time to do anything else.

I can assure you that I will update it either tomorrow (Tuesday) or Wednesday

I hate to be the cynical one here, but I've been made redundant twice in the past four months and so all I can say is "the new guy goes first".

If your management team have an ounce of sense and see that the new guy is much better than the old guy, then I'm sure you're golden.
