http://www.pandora.com/

possiably the coolest thing i found in a while. Basically you end up creating radio stations (good quality) and you start by typing in the name of an artist or song you like and it plays it. then it plays a song LIKE it and you click "guide us" and say wether it was good or bad and it continues like that refining your station to the exact musical style you like - currently mine is PERFECT for my current mood and im discovering tons of new artists i didnt know existed!

Awesome

Thanks a lot for the link!

WOW That is so cool! Amazing
It's legal, right? How come?
Robin

Edit: I see, they don't always play the song you choose at the start, otherwise you could just play any song you want.

Edit Again: Man I can't get over this - It is sooo cool! TRY IT!

Pretty good. Found some good stuff that I've never heard of before. Note that after a while it asks to register, and says because of licence rules it can only be for residents of the US. Essentially they ask for a zip code.....

Cheers

Yeah, but it's not hard to find one out. Surely you've heard of Beverly Hills, 90210?

I was being sort of subtle. Note the extra full stops after zip code. These days people seem to want to burn you for being an evil pirate with such an attitude. Nevermind about the seemingly amazingly large portion of 3DSM users.....

Cheers

Oh, I thought the ellipsis was an indication of nasty words that had been ommitted. Either way, the issue here is simply a matter of legalities, the reason the service is only open to the US is because they're covering their ass' in case there's a difference in law in another country. Mind you, the only reason they need to do this in the first place is because the world has gone crazy with everyone suing eachother over anything. It's not an issue of piracy, it's an issue of trying not to become the victim of someone willing to make a quick buck.

3DS Max users on the other hand, a 12 year old kid with a $4000 piece of software? I totally agree with you, but let's not go there because apparently there's an amazing number of rich mummy and daddy's willing to shell out these days, even if they can't afford DBP!
