Well I recently made a trip to Blitz Basic's homepage and checked out it's gallery and projects pages. I was shocked! Why does the BB Comunity has a lot of wonderfull games posted there? Now don't get me wrong I'm a 100% DBP user, but I just want to know why? Is BB somehow better? Does the users of the BB is clever? No! Then why? Why DBP's showcase is filled with hundreds of remakes rather than cool, graphical games.

Sorry for my english, I'm quite confused right now!

Is this DBP's fault (Bugs)? I don't know maybe BB is kind a buggy too!

Atleast one thing I know - BB does not crashes when you do ALT-TAB and then return into the game! Mike wrote that u5.9 fixed this but I dont see any changes!

Three reasons:

1) The DBP Showcase hasn't been updated for ages (and won't be until the new site goes live), all the DBP games have to be found in the newsletters and forum. While there are plenty of them, there are not as many as BB have. You could you say this is because ....

2) ... the 'average' BB user is both more experienced and typically an older age. This means they actually get stuff finished. The percentage of people here who *finish* something is very small indeed. This could in turn be blamed on ...

3) ... DBPro taking longer than BB to become anything resembling 'stable'. While people here were battling with the < v5 upgrades, the BB people were churning out game after game. What we've seen in the past couple of years shows that DBP is now certainly capable, and there are some extraordinary games out there made with it, but the delay at the start combined with point 2 above means they'll probably always have the 'lead'. I'm not sure this actually matters in the grand scheme of things, and while their showcase is visually very impressive, if you actually start downloading and playing the games the quality is quite proportional to DBP titles.

Too much, too soon, too far to go, too late to play

^^ I was gonna say that.
Yea, its just the way that theyre both marketed appeals to different people, and when and where they are marketed as well. They each have there own exclusive features that appeal to people in there own exclusive ways

It's pretty obvious B3D has more community members that are simply more 3d talented then our guys (level design, models, 2d) and it really shows in their games, technical engine features or not.

And if I'm not mistaken a lot of the B3D guys have been using Blitz in one incarnation or another since the Amiga days. They seem to be of the older crowd, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

Then it's as simple as that = We shall wait until release of the U6 and pwn BB's ass with Half-Life 2 graphics, perfect engine coding and excellent graphics! Hey everyone start making artwork, we are goin' to steal BB's leadership!

Dude, as I already said it has nothing to do with the engine. None of it will matter till you guys can start cranking out visuals like this:

So yeah. B3D is basiclly loaded with artists.

I am a good artist + I have a lot of friends artist than can make such a graphical level in modeller. But here's the weak point of this, that when I make a cool level I cannot predict how does this level will look like in DBP. Where is the point of this if I cant load my cool level into DBP and walk around it without a pain in the arse! BB has its own model format from beginning, inspite DBP's DBO format which actually yet is not implented fully into DBP! Besides DBO format changed from 5.8 to 5.9 which leaves us without any DBO exporters in decent modeller packages!
