What do you mean 'recommend any particular games to make'?
Isn't programming about what YOU want to make? Or did you mean to ask what games would be easier to make in relation to others. In that case I'd say, start with simple text driven games and play around with variables. Once that is done go into basic 3D programming and make a simple First Person Shooter, where all you have to worry about is the camera controls, some bad guys and a level.

Strategy games, Role playing games for example are big projects and require a great deal of coding and planning.

The worst thing you can do is getting your head full of too big ideas. Start small, very small and expand on that code. You'll learn the quickest that way and you'll get a very fun game because ideas get added along the way.

Read up on some basic tutorials, especially the ones discussing the planning part (see DarkBasic Classic forum).

Are you asking what you should do for games or what program you should use to make these (darkbasic, darkbasic pro, fps creator, 3d game maker etc.)? Anyway, if your question was what to do for games Yskonyn has already answer your question. Or if you asked what programs to use that depends mostly on you and what kind of program you feel good with. But I recomend darkbasic and darkbasic pro.

I just suggest Darkbasic Pro... it's got all the commands of Classic and a lot more. It's also makes the games faster.

lol, I counted 6(including the sentence about the bad spelling.
Really, don't be sorry, death on wheels, there are many people here who are like that.

Here is what I suggest using:

If you don't have tons of money, and you are doing it for fun:
Dark Basic

If you have alot of money, and you are doing it seriously:
Dark Basic Pro

If you only like fps games and you hate programming:
FPS creator

Only 2D games:
Play Basic

2D games with click and drag type thing:
www.clickteam.com (Klik n' Play, The Games Creator, Multimedia Fusion) Just to put some more game making programs besides The Game Creators stuff.

TO find more info about these programs, go to Thegamecreators.com, and choose the program you would like to use

Um, Dark Basic Pro is around $90 dollars in USA. That's pretty expensive.

lol no it's not, it's a drop in the bucket compared to real-life expenses even if you're getting a 25¢ allowance...Mow lons, clean toilets, just save up for however long it takes, and you'll have it. As long as you're serious about it, it's possible. And don't bring it anywhere like a local store or a theater - you'll end up spending it over time on little things which add up
