Hey all.

I dont have the time to finish these models, so I am giving them out as they are. Although you will have to add textures, and animate them, the models are still my work. The models are free to use for commercial or non commercial games. They are freely distributable.

Please do not resell/repackage and sell the models. Meaning, you can use the models, and make new characters from them but you must not sell them, give em away free.

Attached zip:
.Max files (models only, no rigs)
.X fles (Static models so you can import to another 3d app)
.tga (2 textures. One is painted, the other is UV reference for you to paint )

Good luck. Have fun.
peace

EDIT: REmoved some stuff. Trademark issues.

Thanks. Hopefully some folks will make good use of it.
The zombie model's head is more skull like, but easly tweaked to create a face. Pull some verts here and there.

The blood effects are nice, but that skin looks waaay too healthy to be a zombie.

Gray it up.

Yeah. Needs a few more layers of shade and detailing. Maybe someone might attempt, or make some new textures.

Excellent work on this, you've got a good eye for the human figure, and the texture isnt bad either.. He looks a bit healthy for someone dead though as Megaton mentioned. But if you have a file in layers.. its just a color adjustment to fix it up.

Good work

Thanks Jonny. I use to have a horrible time with human figures (still do in many areas, check out his feet! lol) I learned a ton from going through the works of Andrew Loomis. Some of his techniques can be directly applied to 3d.

For those wondering who Andrew Loomis is.

Yeah, this skin is just a flood fill base color....or maybe he could be a fresh victim!

Joh,

i am trying to animate the zombie but i have to split it into limbs because dbc does not support bone animation.

the problem is though:
* if i convert the mesh to a .3ds it looses it's UV data, and i can't afford that
* when i try to open the .max file i get these errors:

could you possibly export it as .3ds with UV support for me? pretty please
any help would be appreciated

When converting the x files to 3ds, you shouldnt be losing the uv's. What convertor are you using? Its probably not the uv's. 3ds files dont support long filenames for textures, need to be 8.3 or the reference in the 3ds gets truncated.

Interesting errors, what version of Max are you using? If you click open and resave the errors should go away and should not effect the object in way.

But here's the 3ds files anyway. Had to rescale them as they were 20+ feet tall.
