Ok now that your looking at the thread just consider my statement.

Is it possible that xbox 360 is named such due to the release of the playstation 3? Those who are new to gaming or buying there little kid a gaming system would obviously pick ps 3 over Xbox 2... Just a psychological thing happens.

Also, wtf is up with 360? Wouldnt that mean turning gaming around in a circle, thus landing back in the exact same place? And in this case with better graphics due to all the shaders that the developers threw up on the models and such. I think xbox 180 would suggest a better generation of gaming. maybe even xbox 540, but that would impose the reality of going back to where you were AGAIN then after, turning gaming to a new level.

Anyone agree?

What?

So spinning 360 degrees is less impressive than a mere 180?

I get the impression that 360 means "all encompasing". (spelling?)

It is a combination of Revolution and PS3
(Revolution... spinning?)

ditto to sirfire, and if oddmind had paid any attention at all to when they were deciding the name for the 360, he/she would know that thats exactly why they chose 360 over xbox 2, because they wanted to seem superior to the ps3

Dang, I knew this didn't have anything to do with models...

I think it's a way of relating their console to skate/bmx/snowboarding etc. style tricks to subconciously make it seem cool to kids.

^^ true, still... I remember this one guy who took over a football team and said "I'm going to turn this team around 360 degrees"

I thought to myself, "But they suck, so you will go through all of the stages of goodness and end up right back where you are now? At suckage?"

It's supposed to be 360 degrees around you.. putting you in the center of gaming.. As said before, encompassing you more or less.

Joel> Okay... So it sucks... Compared to what?

PS3 developers have only shown 1 or 2 real videos. The rest(Killzone 3, etc, etc.) are all prerendered cutscenes showing what they think it could possibly look like. Not only that but the developer for MGS4 has said that the game could be run on the XBox 360 as well... The power between the two is very similiar.

We haven't seen any video of any revolution games yet... That's still shrouded in mystery.

And it obviously doesn't suck compared to current gen. Possibly compared to a very high-end PC.

Frankly, right now it's the top dog in the world of consoles.

What does a 2 part episode of Due South have to do with an XBox 360 ?

@Izzy
Well, you know, there the fact that the Revolution is Nintendo. That almost automatically means it will make Microsoft its -----. I mean seriously a TV remote? They're unifying control standard for everyone, it's so amazingly revolutionary I'm wetting myself.

Need for Speed is still cool though.

I'm definitely excited for the revolution. I'll almost for-sure buy one when it comes out... A nintendo console hasn't failed me yet!
