Hola Everyone

Ok here i go:

1- I have dial up, will there be problems for me when theres new upgrades?
2- Heard theres a player limit of 256?Is there a way around that?(no im not planning an mmorpg XD)
3- Any sites where i could see the best comercial DB/Pro games?

And now a bit of topic:

1- Will there be a DBPro + Hands On DBPro Book value pack any time soon?
2- What about packages for a full indie group?
3- Am i the onlyone from Puerto Rico here?

Thanx ppl, hope i could be a part of this community soon.

on topic:
1, well I guess you can manage to download the updates, even with dialup. You might want to use a download manager program like Getright or Leechget to be able to continue the download if you want to get it in pieces at a time.

2, No idea about this one. Neither is there's actually a 256 player limit, nor how to work your way around it, if there is a limit.

3, 'the best' is quite subjective, but the showcase part of this website will help. Also the game series called StarWraith are programmed in DB

off topic:

1, dunno
2, dunno
3, dunno

Cheers

That is true, that's the limit of players using darkbasic's internet commands... A way to work around it? My guess would be to make your own multiplayer dll :/

It's quite hard to say what the best dbpro game is... That oppinion differs from persons. But you should check out the "Program Announcement" board to find dbpro products And the "Work in progress" board too.

It's a DX limitation I beleive, but what type of game (besides an mmorpg ) would really need this many players? Quite frankly, your network cables would disintegrate from heat before you could get that many people hooked up on a p2p network

there are two network plugins available at the moment that i've heard good things about: multisync (free), and something else i can't remember (not free).

As for a good game made with dbpro, I always thought mono was pretty cool: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=45436&b=5

I have downloaded updates on dialup ok, but updates are
usually 10 meg or more, so best download at times when you're not
going to be needing the phone for a while.
