Lately many people have been posting up links for their website or other forum site addresses. Since it seems that only a few know how to use this, I put it up for anyone to use. Here is how the code works:
For going to the google website people would write :
http://www.google.com
For going to the google website some would write :
Google
That would make your post much nicer with it coded the second way. In order to do that, write this:

After that is written, write "***Insert NAME here***" minus the quotes. Currently you should have:
Google
Next, you would add "" to the end of it minus the quotes. It should all be one line all together, and you should have a clean link, instead of a link with http:// and www and .com.
All in all the code would be :
Google
The reason why the above does not work is because I did not add the http:// right before google.com
Hope this was clear enough.
Sorry if this wasted your time, I was just trying to help people organize.

Maybe some of us put the whole address because it helps if we actually know the address, in case a sudden browser restart or clearout of our browser histories is needed. Or something.

Personally, I prefer to see the whole address, but your advice is still useful. Thanks anyway.

Whoa.

Are you thinking of expanding this into a whole series of 'tutorial' threads teaching us to use the forum you just joined?

I can see it being easily as popular as the Game Gear.

For crying out loud, he was just giving a bit of advice.
Even though it was a bit of a daft thing to do, that's no reason to laugh him out of here!
Give him time, and he'll learn from his mistakes, but not if you insist on insulting him.

*points to self* Im the Mikey mentioned in that conversation, and to argue my sake, the e-mail address was on his forum profile, people could have got it... it's not like I made everyone attack him >.<

[Edit] I come off rather bad in that conversation, but they were talking about him, and wanting to talk to him on msn and I was like.. y'know it's on his profile... Right? *rolls eyes*

Acutally the reason why I posted about how to make the link like that, was because I used to wonder how to do it, so since I finally learned, I thought others may want to know how. I mean, I had to learn on my own how to do that. I am just trying to be friendlier to others.

At the end of the day, it all depends on whether you can be bothered to type all that crap, just for a link. Still useful, anyway.

Thank you oh almight Drew! I now know the seceret art of linking! Would you like my soul? I feel obligated because you bestowed that insightful bit of information and I am now totally enlightened by it. Please let me kiss your shoes.

I'm tired of people defending noobs. People need to flame sometimes. I feel like this forum is becoming a haven for noobs.

You used to be a noob, didn't you? You should understand how it feels to be on the receiving end of a flame. It sucks, even if you were only trying to be helpful. Not only that, it doesn't help the noob at all.

The main reason this forum was established was to help people with their problems with DB, FPSC, whatever, and let them exchange models and the like. And the people who need help the most are the noobs, because they arn't experienced enough or are confused by some of the tutorials.

Help a noob, because also one day that noob may create one of the most fantastic games on this forum. You'll want to help then, now won't ya?

Just because they're new to the forums and to game design, doesn't mean they have to be annoying newbs. I mean, when I started this whole deal, I never wanted to make an MMPORPG or Halo 13, and I'm sure most members here didn't either.

This forum already helps people with game design, but it will not go out of its way to assist people who don't try to solve the problems themselves or have unrealistic goals.
