This girl is cute, and I also used to prefer My Name is Earl, but strangely enough, I find myself laughing more at the IT Crowd. Father Ted wasn't funny to start with either. It's very character driven and Father Ted was great once you got to know the characters. In the same way, I didn't laugh at the IT Crowd on the first episode or so, but now I find it great.

There aren't many comedies (in my opinion) that are funny from the word go. South Park, Simpsons, Blackadder .... I remember not finding any of those funny on the first go, but after watching them for a bit and deciding to give them a go, they grew on me. A really good example is Family Guy, which I felt was a stupid rip off of the Simpsons and Southpark when it first came on. Now I think Family Guy is my personal favourite - funniest of the lot.

Strange ... the link to episode 6 is to a file called It_crowd_episode_5.wmv ... and I get an error message when I try to play it: 'An operation was attempted on a pin that doesn't exist in the DirectShow filter graph'
