I'm contemplating a user interface that could benefit from some animated indication (possibly 3D). Dark Basic looks like it might handle this tasks better than VB6. The problem is, I DO need access to the serial comport. While I see that Dark Basic Std/Pro does not provide a serial com interface, it does allow for the use of plugins. How is this done? Is Dark Basic compatible with Activex plugins? Specifically, I would like to use Franson's "SerialTools" as I use versions of this activex on other projects.

Please let me know, because this looks like the only thing standing between me and the purchase of DB Pro!

Thanks

CattleRustler -
Thanks for your offer. I have downloaded the Trail DBPro, and have already started a few tests. Any idea when you might be able to pass your com port plugin on? Are there any written descptions of the commands to use with it?

Thanks
