Does anyone remember The Youngs Ones :

And Bottom :

This is truely when British TV use to be the finest in the world, now it's just totally imploded, and that's also what Rik Mayall said He also said there was a 4th series of bottom but his agent wouldn't broadcast it, then they went to the BBC to complain but then, the BBC then went on the agent's side, and fired them both from the BBC, I did have the link telling you more specifically about this, but then I lost it! Ha! Eh oh well! Just have to use our trusty Google ...

The Young Ones was fantastic and broke the mould, Bottom tried to carry it on but the moment had passed.

The Young Ones rocks - gonna have to get the DVD, UK Gold used to show it all the time, nowadays they stick to Porridge and Keeping up Appearances. My fave episode would have to be Oil, the bit where Vivien takes a pick in the back of the head is quality.

Just got the first series of The Mighty Boosh on DVD, highly recommended . I'd say Boosh was stupidly under-rated, so many people have never bothered to watch it, it's like no other humour around these days, more like the crazy stuff Spike Milligan would come up with.

I like both. My favourite episode of the Young Ones was where Vivian can't plug the TV in because the plug won't reach, so instead of moving the TV, he pulls the whole wall nearer instead.

Bottom is even better. Episode 1 is the best. The sex spray.
Bottom LIVE 1 is the next best.

But my whole favourite British Comedy is One Foot In The Grave.

I would agree, for it's era. I think most comedies look dated after a few years, but you can always pick out the one that was "the one to watch" in it's day.

Fawlty Towers, The Young Ones, One foot in the Grave, Red Dwarf, The Office, Extras... they were the ones to watch at the time.

Bottom rules, especially the live ones - 'hooligans island' and 'an arse odity' are 2 of the funniest things ive ever seen.

Has that 4th series been released anywhere? I really want to see it

Oh yeah, mate You just can't forget Fawlty Towers! Red Dwarf - Ahahaha! Legendary! Got all the series of Red Dwarf and Fawlty Towers on video

I have all the series of The Young Ones and Bottom on DVD also to remind you ...

Yeah same ere! But I doubt if it is actually released so ...

Quote: "The Office, Extras..."

YES! I LOVE THEM! Truely a fine work of comedy art ...

Quote: "anyone watched "guest house paradiso"? defenitley NOT toilets"

Yeah man! Guest House Paradiso was a very good film But not as good as the series so......Hmmm .......

Hooligans Island and Bottom LIVE 1 were truely awesome!

One Foot In The Grave is alright yeah, here's also a really good old comedy : Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em I was gonna get that on DVD, but I thought Bottom would be better Hehe

Minding you...Little Britain...1st series was the best! But then got a bit repetitive and boring and went down hill loads! In the first week on Series 3, apparently I heard it lost 3 million viewers! Ha! Don't blame 'em! Hehe

But still...Apart from that, British TV - Best in the world But not as good as it use to be *sigh*

Been ages since I saw the few episodes of Bottom that I did!

From what I remember:
On the Ferris Wheel episode:
Richie: "OHMYGOD! THE FAIR'S CLOSED!"
Eddie: "Yes, It's a tragedy for all of us" (While happily pulling a pint from his jacket and reading his paper)

Must. Get. DVDs.

(Feel free to correct that, because like I said, it's been ages. Now even my brother thinks it's crap)

Young Ones was insane too:
The University Challenge episode, on the train, Adrian Edmonson's character reads the sign next to a window:

"Hmmm. Do not put head out of window. Wonder why?" At this point, he ignores the warning only to get decapitated by a post/tunnel wall.

Close. It's actually :

RICHIE : "OH MY GOD! THE FAIR'S CLOSED! THE FAIR'S CLOSED!
EDDIE : "Yers, It's a living nightmare!"

Awesome stuff. I liked it when he nail gunned his legs into the table. Arf.

As to great british comedies, how about Black Adder? Some of the most funniest stuff ever on that program (since Fawlty Towers).

Cheers

I have the full Boxset. Unfortunately, thanks to the stupid amounts of DVDs I've been getting, I only watched the Christmas Special, Back & Forth and the Cavalier Years.

I've watched a British comedy almost every day of my life. Which is a lot at 43. I own most of the videos mentioned.

I can never get tired of that show! I love it! I got all the series, even the christmas special and the film!

Blackadder: A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.

LOL!
