Hi, a friend is selling his 5700XT for 80 euro's. But what should I do? I mean for 80 euro's I could also buy a nice 9600 or something... What would you recommend?

thanks in advance!

a new card, it has this realy cool thing called a warranty, means if it fails a week after you fitted it you can get a new one, a friend won`t be upset if you don`t buy his old card, if he just wants to offload it for good money he isn`t that much of a friend, I keep my old cards, you never know when you might need a spare urgently.

Old cards??? I've never had a card die on me yet. Longest I've had one for is about 3 Years. But I can't be bothered to find out what 80 euros is in Pounds.

okay, a 7800U is a bit expensive
got that... but uuhm, now does anyone know if a FX6600 is better then a 9600?

CPU comparisson is easy, graphic cards are more of challenge...

okay... great site! thanks
now a bit more technical question: where does the fan get it's power from, I've seen cards that need an extra molex-connection. but if u look at this picture:

http://www.swistak.pl/zdjecia/00/01/19/00/1190058_4_b.jpg

I see nothing like that, so I guess through the AGP connector?

edit: does anyone know of a website where it's explained what's faster than another... I mean what does LE or TD mean? is it slower than MX or Ultra? (okay last ones pretty obvious )

I think LE is the "lite" version. A little cheaper, and so on.
Go with GT at the minimum. I had a 6600GT AGP card, and it did
have the extra molex. The fan and card would run without the
molex plugged in, but no 3d game would run without
it plugged in.

They also make \"SE\" from ATi which stands for Sh*taki Edition

I had an SE 9600 and it sucked. A 9600 standard was good OCd

The 6600 is a good card. Makes the 6800 not worth the extra mhz. I haven't noticed any special convention with their naming of Ultra, MX, XT, or whatever. I mean, what's up with XT Pro and XL? Or GS and GT? You'll have to check the specs on newegg.com.

if you can get PCI-E, get a ATi 1600XT. $159 w/ shipping included. Supports SM 3.0 and is super fast and Crossfire capable. Amazing card for money... actually sick.

if not save the extra cash and get an XFX 6600GT 256mb. get the black and lime green crazy one. www.newegg.com.
