In DarkBASIC Classic why does 5^2 return the value 24 and not 25?

Works fine here...

Try reïnstalling your version if you are sure you didn't type something wrong. I don't know any version that has such a bug...

We installed DarkBASIC on another computer, whereupon 5^2 was given as 25.

However, darkBASIC on the first computer still keeps saying that 5^2 is 24!!!

Any explanation for this?

On starting DarkBASIC the PC says we are using DarkBASIC v1.08(8)
