In theory, I'd create several flare textures and do some maths so they'd create a sun flare effect when you turn towards/away from it. However, before I go and do this, I was wondering if there was a simpler way to make a sun flare (like some hidden command I don't know about lol). This is for DB Classic btw, thanks.

Danmatsuma, I wasn't asking 'how' to do it, I was asking if there was an easier way. Thanks for the link RPGamer, I'll check it out right now.

Just read it and it's great - it's exactly what I was looking for, I had the same idea in mind for how I would've made it but that tut saved me the trouble.

I was just about to post a new question asking if you could 'flip the normals' of an object to create a skybox with a texture on the inside but that site has a tutorial for that as well. =)

You use the SET OBJECT COMMAND and then you can set the cull to 1 so they outer polies show on the inside.
