My spanish teacher and VBall coach was having me try to fix his computer today because some kid messed with it. All the teachers kind of know I'm like a technology type guy and know more than our new IT guy whos an a**hole and doesnt do anything Anyway, I feel really bad not being able to fix it.

Heres the problem: This kid snuck on to his comp and put a somewhat... risque picture as the background. But not the desktop background, the background of when you log in. (if anyone is familiar with a large network...) Anyway if anyone could help me that'd be great. Thanks.

There should be a bitmap in one of the System folders, can't remember the name of the file unfortunately. You may have to do a search on the net, or search for all the bmps in the folder and go through them all to find it.

Change the desktop background to any .bmp file.

If it's an XP themed login screen, you'll have trouble though b/c I think those are resources in a dll.

You can use ResHack (google it) to replace or extract images from Win32 dlls that the Window operating uses. Or you can use a Stardock application to change the boot screen of the Window operating system.

I have seen similar things like this back in my old middle school computers. I agree with Exeat. It should just be in one of the system folders. At least that's how I remember it.

If you right click on the picture and select Properties
at the bottom of the context menu, that may give the
location...
