Ok, I realise it's bonkers - crazy and downright silly, but I want a pair of cool goggles. The reason? Why, for Infra Red Goggles of course!

I've got the filters (the world according to IR is quite alien looking), and I had a pair of British welding goggles - but they're...
a) Icky green
b) Heavy and chunky, and
c) I spray painted them brass and 1.25 years later the paint is still sticky to touch.

So I want a new pair. A cool pair. A pair like the ones on the left or even these snowglare ones.

I have requirements (as they're to be made into IR viewing goggles)
- They must have flat lenses
- Preferably removable/replaceable lenses
- They can't let in light at the sides
- They shouldn't be icky green British welding ones that can't take paint

I'm UK Midlands based, and any advice on where I could find these mythical goggles would be greatly appreciated. All the (cool) US welding goggles in the image above I've found work out around $9 - which would be ace, if any of them actually shipped to the UK.

Help??

the disposals store in melbourne has swiss army goggles (as in goggles from the swiss army) for like $40 AUD. I'm sure if you check a disposals store that sells ex ,military stuff you will find some. if you do, build me some too!
