Hi

As a younger child (about 10yrs) I was very good at drawing using a pencil and paper, but then I started learning to play the guitar and I lost all interest in drawing.

But now I want to go onto doing computer graphics (Starting on 2D and moving onto 3D) and I figured drawing has to play a big part in it. So I have the talent(Buried deep somewhere) and I wanted to know if any of you guys would help me to learn how to do some good 2d computer graphics.

Or whether you could tell me of any tutorials.

If needed you can reach me at

Thanks

If you can draw, and scan then that's half-way. Colouring is the expensive part. Photoshop, photopaint, PSP, are the next stage. Those take a few months to learn as well..... maybe years. If you want to be a great 2D artist, then you will be best to get Photoshop 6 upwards. There are lots of Photoshop tutorials on the net.

So are you saying that when doing 2D art you draw the picture first then scan it in and redraw over the image using a software package.

If so I have always thought about doing that but I didn't know how practical it was.

Thanks

Please keep somehelp coming in whilst I try out these ideas

There are other ways. There is a wacom tablet, which allows you to draw with a pen/mouse straight onto the screen. There is rendering, which uses a 3D modelling package to create 2D renders. You could just draw with the mouse. In fact, most Photoshop tutorials use just the mouse.
