Have any of you guys used T E.D. it is really cool and easy to use plus the results are amazing! The only thing im upset about that is being realesed in the next version is the ability to place objects on the terrain.Anyway just to prove it to you here is a picture of a landscape I made in under an hour!

*whew* I thought T.E.D. was another one of those A.L.I.C.E. type chat programs.

No offence Array, but awesome is a little strong for describing that screenie. The colour map looks far too low resolution, in both screens, not just the DBPro one. Personally I think there's so many options for editing terrain that you have to find one that you like using, or write your own, but actually rendering the colour texture is often best done in Bryce or Vues or something along those lines. The results you get on a properly rendered terrain with shadows is much better IMO. I'm not saying terrain editors should be avoided, I'm saying you can often get terrain renderers like Bryce and Vues Du Esprit for free on CG magazine coverdisks - the terrain editors in these programs always suck - it's like you can have a renderer or an editor, but nothing inbetween .

You're better off with 3D World Studio... Yeah alright... It's more expensive... But the terrains are alot more awsome... I tried the demo of T.ED... It's far from awsome. And the UI is... Well... Quite ugly if you ask me.

There is an example program with dbpro and 3d world studio maps here:
