but this is my first game. Nothing special, but I kinda like it. Well, I did until I had to play it over and over to get things right!

Anyway, there's a couple of screenshots here, you can also see more at my web site and also download the game from there.

This is my first attempt, so go easy, hope you enjoy it!

Hi,

Screenshots look nice however I'm having difficulty playing the Demo. Get as far as the FPSPack Colony screen, click OK, Please Wait bar loads upto 100%, minimizes to the taskbar and then nothing.

When I look in Windows Task Manager it shows up in the processes but isn't doing anything .

Any ideas what's causing this?

Cheers, OG.

Sorry about that. I think it's the fps pack creator.

I'm rebuilding the exe using clickteam's install creator!

Should be uploaded in about 10 mins.

Cheers..............

EDIT : OK, I messed something else up too, so I'm just rebuilding in FPSC, then I'll rebuild and then I'll upload it to my web site!

EDIT TWO : OK, this will have to wait until tomorrow night, I need to look at a couple of things, but right now I have to sleep!

OK, here we go.

Download the demo and view a slide show from my site here :

http://www.digitalsteve.co.uk/chaos.htm

Like I said before, it's only a very small game, just wanted to see what I can do with FPSC.

I'm also uploading it to file front at the moment and will place the link here when it's done.

Enjoy.

I downloaded it from your site. It took about 10 minutes to load the game. When I walked around, it was like moving through a tar pit. When I shot the boxes, the ones on top fell in slow motion. Most of the time I couldnt see where I was. Also, some of the models are sticking through the floors, so yo can see them when you go down a floor. Basically, it lagged to much.

Thanks for the feedback. I've tried it on two computers and mainly it runs fine, it lagged a little in one bit but nothing major. Loading times for me was slow, but around five mins.

What are your pc specs. out of interest?

I set the ambient lighting quite low but not too low, can you take a screenshot and show me?

Cheers

It's annoying that this doesn't work for you, I assume you've played other demos or just FPSC stuff and it's mostly OK?

Not sure what I can do about it apart from take out a bunch of stuff, but that doesn't really help with making a good game.

Oh well, it was my first attempt, I've got plenty more ideas, I'll just have to keep them simple.

Not sure about your sempron though!
I've got an AMD Athlon 64+ 3000, but the other PC I tried it on is a stock compaq with a P4, it's got a 128Mb ati 9200 that I added though, as before even FPSC was unusable.

jacko101, it was a good game, for what I could do. It just lagged to much for me. Maybe its my processor. My computer is ever upgrading, and it always has a problem. I wish I could just build a brand new one, if i had the money.

Keep on making your levels. I would like to test some more

JKGS, was your name jacko101? And why did you change it. I won't come quietly by the way, you'll have to get backup!

Higgins, thanks for your comments. The game ran OK on another PC I tried at work, a little lag, but OK.

I might take out a bunch of entities just to see if it does make a difference, would you be able to test it for me? Probably wont be done until the weekend though.

Thanks again for your interest.
