I'm using DB Classic to import a .3ds model so I can keep all the texturing and stuff, the model comes out fine and the textures are all there except they look 'fuzzy' and dotty and generally not very good.

I then tried and loaded it up with 'The 3D Model Viewer' under the showcase section on the site and it looked really good. The lighting and textures were smooth and perfect so I was wondering if anyone knew what settings the 3d model viewer uses? I'd like to get the same effect it does, thanks.

did you try:

set object ob_num,wire,trans,cull,!FILTER!,light,fog
set object texture ob_num,wrap_mode,!MIPMAP GEN FLAG!
set mipmap mode !MODE!

everything inside !><! will make a big differrence to the look of your texture, not to mention messing with
light 0, ambient light and screen depth...

Sorry I don't know the settings for that program

Yeah I did, I tried nearly every combination and nothing looked good. I actually only saw very slight differences between the mipmap modes and set object lighting/ambient, etc.

Those were the 3 settings I thought would make it look best as well but it didn't turn out that well to me. =/

well perhaps the program you like has a higher screen depth and res? Otherwise besides lighting there's not much left to alter besides 'flush video memory' which'll only reload the textures anyhow, one last possibility which i'm sure you must've looked into already is that the program you like the look of may have been made in DBpro..

I thought it might've been that but it was under the showcase on http://www.darkbasic.com rather then the proffesional site so I figured it wasn't.
