OK now i told before that i would try making an RPG with this engine.

Storyline:

(This game is a second versiopn of a 2D version)

In part one you had destroyed the dark semmict...
BUT the leader did survive and kept on building his army of dead people...

Now you begin in your bed...
Its silent outside...
Except,You hear the sound on fire.
You pick up your sword and go outside,There you are attacked by zombies!

you flee in the basement and fond a man there...
he tells you a story...
You go further out the village.

You will have to survive dungeons,Crypts and more...

Until...You find the boss and defeat him...again...

OK now here are 2 screenys of demo:

Screeny inside your room(No lightmap)

Screeny outside in village(with lightmaps)

(the first was when i was only designing and no details yet)

The demo is currently uploading and in the demo is:
LVL1

That level isnt done yet.
There is missing one part and something i let out with a reason.

Reason:
The text the man says.

Missing
A little piece in village

Well i hope you like it!

Hi,

Downloading now, will provide feedback asap.

The screenshots look promising, will be interesting to try an FPSC Creation that isn't an FPS .

Cheers, OG.

Here are some updates\fixes im doing now.

= need to work on
= almost done
= done

LVL1( need to delete all the fire i seen there where 650 fire entity's)
Dungeon Segments
The lightning in LVL1
Collection of enemy's
The sounds
the games story

So this are things that i still have to do.

And how is the "non FPS with an FPS engine" effect?

Known bug:
-Its slow in the begin as soon as you will get further in the level you will get faster.

Uploading Soon(i will edit this post then)

Looks good, but two major probs I ran into:

1. The sword is see-through and does damage sometimes when I use it on zombies that are at least 30 metres away. (I know I am good, but not THAT good)

2. The game lags big time. Frame rate was super slow and locked up on my a few times.

The see treough etc. of the sword isnt my work its KeitC's work as what i remember.

And the demo lags indeed due so much Dynamic entity's
In the newest i replaced most of them by static.

http://files.filefront.com/Klinha_V11_Demo_Setupexe/;4828849;;/fileinfo.html

And WTF 22 Downloads and only 3 reply's of what they think?

well the above link is to newest Demo it also has fixed the missing part.

Wit this game i also made for every dungeun a boss.
Hes 3 floors high and every dungeun has its own color boss, heres a pic of the one of dungeun 1 and a scene you might have to battle with it.

Hope you enjoy it!

REMEMBER:
I made a deal with someone of this forum, this game will be sold by him and i wont get anything off the money(I suggested it he didnt)BUT i wanted one thing,
Here comes good news to people who hate paying for stuff:
THE FIRST WEEK ITS OUT IT WILL BE TOTALY FREE!

after that week you need to pay...

Wouldnt people just pass the game around to friends? I dont think any one would buy it if they could get it for free from friends, maybe think that over .

Iam downloading the demo now, so ill tell you what i think.

**EDIT**

Its giving me 14kbs a second, its going to take about 2 hours to download. If I dont have it before 10pm, iam going to download tomorrow.

I hate US servers, always giving me low kbs. I have a 2meg line, and should have 256kbs.

Hi,

I have now played through the v1.1 demo and as promised here is the feedback, I hope you find it helpful.

The Legends Of Klinha - v1.1 Review

---Contains Spoilers---

For starters I love the fact that this not an FPS which is being developed using FPSC; as it serves to broaden the scope of what other people will hopefully try to do with the software.

Loading the game took just under two minutes (accompanied by a 'ticking' sound) which is pretty good going in comparision. The menu uses rather strong vivid colours and could perhaps benefit from being toned down a little, the idea of the sword/loading bar is a nice touch though.

The player starts in a large mostly empty upstairs room, this is where the sword can be found, heading downstairs to another largely empty room (both rooms seem to display a problem with almost constant footstep sounds even when the player is still) the player exits via the doorway to the outside and your first enemy.

The models (stock/custom?) look and sound good however the AI seems to let them down as they will often be seen running on the spot (this is most evident when they are on a different surface texture than you and seem to get stuck at the change point).

The main part of the demo exists solely outside, however before wandering round, there is a basement area nearby with an Enemy and a rather odd looking guy with a smiley face t-shirt, hmm. Exiting up the stair presents another bug, as you will get stuck on the last step and will need to jump over it.

Now back outside and there are lots(!) of Zombies to be killed. Heading over the bridge and quite a nice (if a little fragmented) river there is a sword in a stone the same/similar to the one you are wielding, of aesthetic value only. Kill a few more zombies and you're on your way to the end of the demo.

The main 'cons' are; the very frequent lag in the demo (both inside and out), the Zombie AI, and sparesly populated areas (there were lots of enemies but little exploration).

The main 'pros' are; being able to use a sword, Zombies (more games should have them!) and the eerie desolate nature of the huge environment.

A good job and a good start.

Cheers, OG.

They are orginally made by Valve Software (they are zombie models from Half-Life 2), but it was bond1 who remade them for FPSC.

Some of the stuff are custom(But not realy in lvl1)
And the zombies are also stuck due the grey plants on the ground....

That man is the NPC who will tell a story in the full game,
And that jump im currently deleting.

Yeah i like good action,Because whats a RPG without ALOT of enemy's?

You should have seen my bettetr version with tree's mate, but the tree's became grey...

You mean start of the game or start of my game making carreer?

====================================================================

Further i would still like some people testing my first dungeun.
It will be sended to you by email.
(Its pretty anoying due the fact theres somewhere a room with invisible floor\no floor parts and behind there the weapon needed to kill the boss lays )

So i would like if someone signs himself up for that.

A bit of both I guess. The demo; as it is a promising start to what will hopefully become a great use of FPSC. Also the vagueness of it all, what I mean is that generally when a player starts a game they know little about what's going on so sometimes it is nice to be simply thrown into it and learn as the game progresses.

In regards to a potential career; your demo (I feel) does manage to communicate what it is that you're trying to do. A key skill for any game designer though is knowing the limitations of the hardware (in this case FPSC) and no doubt that'll be a challenge you'll face as your development progresses. What I really like though is (and it may seem odd) the Sword styled loading bar as it shows an eye for detail.

I'm free over the weekend and would be happy to do some testing for you, just email me. Next week I start on my first FPSC project .

Cheers, OG.

Here goes another "review" (or, comments about the demo):

Just tested the demo. The main menu was colorful, but i didn't like it so much. It was a big pixel mess. I would have preferred something like a reqular background picture, perhaps something "fantastic", as it would fit with the theme.

The beginning was quite good, the light flashing near the bed looked pretty neat.

The sword, your only "weapon" in this demo, was pretty well designed, but transparent. It would have looked better with non-transparent textures.

As soon as i got outside, i was shocked. The area was soooo large and it had many zombies standing around. The big environment had it's downside, though: the framerate was bad. REALLY bad. As it says on the manual= don't try to create huge outdoor areas. FPSC's engine can't handle it, point blank. However, the area seemed much more non-linear because of it's bigger size.

After turning around the corner, i found a passage leading to a cellar. There was an NPC standing still. You could have designed it a little better; the NPC could give you some hints, for example; perhaps you could put a story- or soundzone there.

You need a little more work on the outdoor area, however. If you make it so utterly huge, put there some secrets in there as well. I explored most of the whole town and i found many houses which you could go inside, but there was nothing inside. You should put some enemies hiding inside them, or some secrets for the player. Exploring seems a waste of time since you can't find anything.

Make the town smaller too. What's the point of having a whole town to explore when the most streets are empty or there's nothing to find?
Lesser enemies would increase the performance also. About 30-40% of the zombies could be removed or put inside houses.

Anyways, it was a pretty good demo. It's interesting to see how you can turn an FPS into an RPG. You could put some other weapons in the game too; like, a magic wand which you could conjure fireballs with or something similiar.

I wondered one thing though: the FPS pack says "Non-commercial use only", so it means that you couldn't sell this game, right?

EDIT: You might want to add some more RPG elements to this game also. The demo seemed to be only a zombie hack n' slash fest.

Like stated before:
In demo there will be no sound/movie hints.

Who says i dont got the commercial version on this moment?
(or a previous version)

i didnt make this sword...
in dungeuns you will get to beat the boss the gun "octopus"

And finaly there are coming reviews after 22 or more downloads!

Oops sorry, i didn't read/or i missed that post. And, what do you mean by "Who says i dont got the commercial version on this moment?" Nobody said that you wouldn't, but i was wondering can you just sell it if that pack is intended for non-commercial use only.
