I'll download the free version, give it a try. I have no decent 3D graphics software, so the way I look at it I have nothing to loose =p

I doubt I'll ever buy the paid versions though, just because it makes a fuss about requiring the professional version for commercial use and the way I look at it if you're paying for the software you should be able to use what you make commercially no matter what version it is.

But in the mean time it'll be something fun to fool around with, I imagine.

It's okay. There are plenty of people here that use it. Just be patient.

Anyways, here are my scores:

3DMark05: 8355 3DMarks (Results from manufacturer lab tests, when I tested it, I got only 5 less, a marginal amount.)
3DMark06: 4090 3DMarks

Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
1GB DDR-SDRAM
512MB ATI Radeon X1800 XT

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
1GB DDR-SDRAM (May increase to 2GB one day)
512MB ATI Radeon X1800 Series - Finally! A card that does pixel shaders correctly!

I get 0 every time for some reason. Obviously doesn't like my hardware much at all. Some benchmark programs have the nerve to give my 6800 a 2D only label! CHEEKY!

@NeX, you got a Nvidia Geforce 6800GT by any chance? Just wondering, because I have a similar card, and benchmark proggies refuse to rate it aswell. I usually get a '-1'

Judging by that, I kind of doubt that 3DMark05 or 06 will want to run on your system. 3DMark05 requires Shader Model 2.0, and 3DMark06 uses Shader Model 3.0 for the second two tests in addition to the Shader 2.0 tests.

@Lukas W-
yea wuts ur specs?

i cant believe i spend almost 300 bucks on an ATi x850xt when for that much I could have crossfired two really nice x1600xt 256mb with pixel shader 3 and sm 3.0.

lmao. mines close.

there are many tricks to get 200-300 points higher. one is to turn off ur monitor. next unplug mouse and keyboard. this will get you 300 points higher which makes a difference between 2700-3000.

i got 2300 with monitor off and 1887 with it on.. and i think i OCd my gfx card too a lil (+50mhz). so the little stuff makes a difference.

But you won't be playing without a monitor, mouse, or keyboard, so what good does it do you?
