...to install! It's like nearly a Gig! And the installer does all those dodgy 'validation' checks first (my firewall didn't like it!).

Ah well. I guess I'll just have to sit back and wait...

(oh yeah. The reason I need it is because I am going to write an AVI dll that allows you to go through the avi frame by frame. I will let you know when/if I get it done!)

It finished installing, and I just created my first DB-Pro dll!! (using Lee's Third Party Commands tut)! Took a while to get my head round it, and VC express doesn't let you edit resources (did it with notepad then just added the file to the project).

I'm chuffed to bits! I can get back into C++ now! YAY!

The Platform SDK ? If so, you must have a slow machine for it to take all night. And I don't see why it does a validation check...

Yep, platform sdk. Didn't take that long in the end (It had one of those stupid progress bars that doesn't mean anything (i.e. it start of going REALLY slowly, then half way through suddenly goes really fast!)). The validation checks were because I used the 'on-line installation' instead of downloading the full thing install cabs, or the ISO images.
