I've been looking around a bit, and seen sinistar's Magic FPS. Basicly a simple Entity Creator with GUI. So i'm thinking that since he's already making that, mabye i'd just quit? I mean, i know the're two diff things. So, should i make it? If not i could make a series of small apps, such as a bullet shell creator. LOL . But, i am serious about it. I should be able to start very quikly on whatever i decide, so help me here... also, if you really want me to make this, why don't you give suggestions, and say how much you'd be willing to pay. That would spur me onward.

Make a program that takes .x models and you can easily rig them to different types of skeletons, like the skeleton they gave you and maybe a custom made one, like for small bipeds and quadpeds.

Thanks

LOL
"easily rig"
LOL

Nice idea, but really the rigging has to be fine tuned.
You would get various effects if that process is automated.
Manually assigning the vertices is the only way to assure proper movement.
Nice Idea. One that I had as well, but it is a real task.
Good luck with that... it should sell like crazy.

Magic FPS doesnt seem to let you specify if objects are health, explodable, enemies, or weapons in this case. So not exactly an entity maker. The actual entity maker from the Game Creators can already step you though making weapons though.

But Skitza's right: make a program that simplifies attaching a model found on Turbosquid for example to series of skeletons. Then you'll be a God

I finally got my registration from milkshape, so I'll be rigging my first one tomorrow.
From what I've heard it is a very time consuming process.

E.C.S. Pro allows you to make an type of static or dynamic entity you want, and the process is very easy too.

as for the weapon creator, you annuonced it a VERY long time ago, and we havent seen any results.

people have been asking me to resume work on mine, so thats what i have done.

maybe you can get some motivation from competition

Glad for the encouragment, but, What does ESC pro not do that Weapon Creator could? I mean, i'm not saying i won't do it, but, as far as i know ECS can do it all. I would still like to do it, but there are already several programs.

it can make weapon ENTITYS, not weapons themselves.

in other words, it doesnt generate gunspecs, HUD, VWEP or any of that stuff, just entitys, but WCS will

hmm... i kinda missed that....

EDIT
<

Ok, people, how important is a beautiful GUI to you? Cuz i'm trying to decide whether to make it in dbc(without the cool GUI), or in VB.net 2005(without 3d position preview). Any input? 3D position preview IS pretty important, cuz most people have lots of trouble getting their weapon in the right place to be seen.

I would like to see the 3d preview myself. It would help make any adjustments before you exported it to FPSC.
Personally,I'm not going to be picky.Any help is appreciated.I looked at your setup that you had on the other post and it looks cool.I think any program that imports to/exports from FPSC ought to have a 3D preview. But that's just me.

Code Master, you and Bullshock should team up and do the weapon thing together. You both do an excellent job and the product would be outstanding.

I don't know why I am the only person who had replied to this.I am sure there are others who want Weapon Creator too.As far as I am concerned this is something that is near and dear to my heart.
Before i get flamed,I know I am double posting.I did it because i think this is a very important project and it deserves a bump.

If it can do its job well, and is only a tool, then GUI isn't that important as long as it's easy to use (look at the entity maker for example). A 3D preview would be far more useful then a pretty interface.

Yes I think so to and besides you have to animate the reloading and the shooting thrilling and the shells flowing out and the right position of the gun and so on ... I really hope this all will be easy with this or Bullschok's weapon creator

The entity Maker can only make the part of the weapon you pick up, not the part that you hold and see first person
