export it from your modeling program as one.

You should be able to export it, or save it as a 3DS file, and convert it to .X, there are lots of converters out there.
I think you can use Blender to import it, and export it as an X.

google for the Pandasoft .X exporter
Its free and available for 3dsmax6,7 and 8.
