I saw Bender on the the dbpro newsletter. So i am just wondering how many people would like to see the show back on tv. I think it should be put on rather than American Dad.

It's on down here once or twice a day. Unfortunately, they didn't create enough episodes so it's very repetitive.

I think what M2zt means to say is who wants to see new episodes. If that is the case then I sure as hell would.

I have every episode. I hate Fox. Futurama is so great, but they never liked it, and it didn't make enough money, so they killed it. The only reason they kept Simpsons is because it did make enough. Plus, Futurama cost $1.2 million per episode as opposed to the Simpson's $800,000 per episode. The 3D animation costs extra.

Fox tried to make the episode 'Bender Should Not be Allowed on TV' the final one. Luckily, Matt Groening had already made 'The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings' because he suspected they might do something like that.

It's still on adult swim, even though they only play a few seasons...

I doubt they'll bring it back, which is a shame because the quality of humour is way beyond that of the Simpsons. I bought them all in the DVD boxed set and love them. If they do release some full-length movies that would rock

Fox are idiots, they don't know a good thing when they've got it. A lot of people commented that it was axed because it took the piss out of American life too much (which is probably what makes it so brilliant).

I do like Futurama - its wasn't afraid to explore areas where cartoons didn't dare tread. Shame it ended...

The bottom line is that its profit margin was not good enough. Fox didn't like Simpsons, but people did. The problem is that Futurama appealed to less people. The sci-fi element eliminates lots of people from the start.

I suspect that users of this forum don't represent the mainstream, as we all have a certain acceptance of sci-fi and video games. For me, Futurama is just right in every respect.

I think they were also upset that Futurama mocked Fox in an even more aggressive manner than The Simpsons did. For example, the space stockexchange which is seen in one episode shows Fox shares having fallen through the floor.

Fox has a track record of creating great TV shows and then cancelling them for the wrong reasons. Firefly would be another example of this stupidity.

Family Guy did get axed after it's 3 season, but it was brought back after having one of the highest (I forget which catagory exactly) DVD sales ever.

If you watch the first episode of the 4th season there's a joke about the series' fox has cut .

It's like Fox's executives determined that it would be profitable to appeal to the younger generation, so they hired some young middle managers to pick shows. They pick good ones, but the old guys in suits don't like anything that they do pick. The only thing that will make them turn a blind eye is the $$$$.

?

Hardly. It was completely harmless but awesomely hilarious.

Not as good as Simpsons season 3 - 7 or there abouts but definately better than the new series.

rumour down the grapevine right now is that they're working on a new season of futurama due to popular demand, that's suppose to be aired at the end of the year.

it's only a rumour, so i'm not going to hold my breath; but if it's true then i'll be a happy camper.

Remember Jurassic Bark ? And the ending ?

Plenty mention of sex, what with Lila & Branagan... Not to mention when Branagan & Kiff got kicked out of DOOP and Branagan tries to sell Kiff's body to everyone in sight.

Religion...

Futurama certainly wasn't afraid not to have happy endings...

Rumours of a new series being made due to the high demand of fans, however, ofcourse it never could compete with the humour of the simpsons, stupid flanders...

Yeah, two of the saddest endings belonging to the 7 Leaf Clover and the Seymore the Dog episodes.

I'm sorry guys, but no cartoon can touch South Park with the sheer genius level. Many people might just pass it off as bathroom humour, but there is a lot of depth in there not found anywhere else (i.e. catchy musical numbers).

The later episodes are sheer genius, especially when they poke fun at politically incorrect topics involving TV censorship and religion (did anyone see the Mormon episode?). Brilliant.

Correction Jeku no episode of any other animated comedy can touch the "anime" episode of South Park. Man I love that song. "PROTECT MY BALLS!" Good times... >_<

I dont like South Park either. I just hate when they sing and I sometimes find the show very boring.

I like the part in When Aliens attack where Fry spills beer on the controls and Knocks fox off the air.

TV Guy: "Oh my God. You knocked FOX off the air!"
Fry: "Pfft, like anyone on earth cares."

I read something recently that said Matt Groening was so impressed by the sales of Futurama on DVD that he was considering reviving it and making further episodes ... here's hoping!

I've done my part. I downloaded every episode, then I bought all five seasons on DVD. Not to would have just been wrong.

Ha! You got mugged off. There's actually only four seasons of futurama - Fox just rearranged season 4 (and possibly some of season 3) just so they'd have 5 seasons to play with on the schedules!

Has FOX ever consitered if they would shape their act up, then these cartoonists wouldn't have anything to joke about? Besides, it is not like a few jokes about FOX hurts the veiwings.
