How about a section just for looking for team-mates.
like:
Jobs offered
jobs wanted

Please people,dont just come by and leave,post about what you think cause it really would be helpfull when looking for team and maybe more and better people could be found,people that maybe has nothing to do with DB but still look inside.

Hmmm, I believe they did have a team request sort of topic awhile ago. Don't believe it went so well though.

I wouldn't mind there being a sort of portfolio for each user, showing if they're open for jobs and a bit about their experience/skill.

Once upon a time there was a board (or as you called it a "section") called Team Request. A lot of dumb people who went around saying they had a company, and where willing to pay, and couldn't spell, and had big aspirations went there. What happened was a lot of nothing and plenty of b*tching. So while it would be nice, it was also one of the smartest moves TGC has made, taking off Team Requests.

It went a bit like this:

POST TITLE: UBER GAME COMPANY LOOKING FOR TALENTED ARTISTS/CODERZ/MUSICIANS/GAME SCRIPT WRITERS/STORYBOARDERS/DO-ALL-THE-WORK-FOR-ME


Hi,

This is <insert name here>. I'm loking 4 sum c00l ppl to help me writ a game. U'd b doin all teh w0rk whil I laugh at u. I own a Uber game cumpany called Midnight Monkey Productions. Wer not ragisterd as a cumpany but wer still c00l. plz help, i'm willing 2 pay u 2 US dollers an hur. So plz plz plz plz plz help me! Tank u.

No matter how ya do em, team request boards are a waste of time and energy. Countless more hours of work approving posts for mods, newbs bhatching off left and right, so much l337 spk ur eyes might start bleeding, and so many box-on-a-matrix-soon-to-be-a-mmorpg threads your eyes would start bleeding. It's not worth it. Period.

I'd like a team request board if it were something where when you press submit it goes in for review before posting then it could possibly work, of course it would be tiresome work for the mods/admin.

However I would like to see a music related board like Music Theory or Sound Theory or something.

they would need some way to makes sure it was a good TR, maybe just put TR on the wip board and highlight them in a different color or something, and have them apply for TR status, then a mod looks at the post, and either approves or denies it, kinda like a newb post

Yeah, that would be neat to have some kind of a music forum, unfortunately, I don't know too many people on here who have music to share, so it would be very much the dead forum. Although who knows, there may be many people who would be interested and would learn from that kind of thing. Music is a quite important factor in games IMO.

I agree that we need a portfolio section here---- i.e. you click on 'Profile' under someone's name and he/she can create their projects and upload screenies there. They can solicit help all they want from there, and if someone wants to work with them they can contact each other through email.

I've brought up a music/sound board a couple of times. That's probably the most likely board we'd see. Just need to show Rich that there's a demand for it(e-mail him, etc.).

Considering sound/music is one of the most important aspects of game creation, and TGC sells related products(SoundMatter,SFXengine, and now DarkVoices).

i really think i am a great sound effect dude!
i make sound effects but never really posted any. however most of my games (or maybe just zombie hunter) uses music and sound effects created by me! mwahahaha i am talented

i forgot about telling you guys that also i want a sound/music board on these forums.

Music/sound board please. All sorts of things to talk about from showing off, to talking about software and equipment, to accoustics, to music theory, and all sorts of stuff.
