I want to get a PSP, but $250 for handhelp system is dumb. The base price for a XBOX 360 is $300. Only a $50 difference there. Does anyone know where to get a NEW one for cheaper? It's been this expensive for a while, when is the price going to go down?

A handheld device will usually go down because a competing product comes out and it needs to have a price to draw in the sales or it gets older and just drops due to lack of consumer interest. As far as buying a new one for cheaper, there might be some E-Bay stores or other auction people who have a brand new one and want to sell it for less than $250. I would also suggest looking at Craigslist to see if anyone has a new (or caringly used) PSP.

I have a psp, and I can tell wht the price would be there. It is so far, the bast graphics on a handheld system, and thats why the price is so high. As Saikoro said, when something better comes out, the price will go down, so the 'less rich' people will be able to have one.

Of course its kind of hard to put a comparability between the PSP and the core 360 anyway, one is portable, one isnt. Game reviewers and us, in natural habit, do not compare the PS3 with the Nintendo DS, do we? Nor do we compare prices of Liptons tea with Folgers coffee. They provide somewhat the same thing, yet are two different products altogether. Now if we compared the prices of Liptons to say Twinings, or the 360 to the PS3, then you could make a valid price statement.
